I don't think I have been more content than I was in this moment: warm Mediterranean waves, my wonderful man riding the waves while holding up two girls squealing because they can see fish, my tiny boy kicking away, sunshine, castle views, and really absolutely nothing to complain about at all. Memories I will keep forever. I know this kind of perfect moment is a bit rare, but smaller happiness isn't. Small joys are peppered throughout every day, keeping the sunshine alive and my heart thankful. šŸŒŠ šŸŒŠ#thejeffordsgetaway
I love coming upon a whole wall of possibilities, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the beauty, but then something springs to the forefront and ignites that sweet spark of inspiration and šŸ’„ choices are made. Today, the creamy-teal is singing strong, and tomorrow it will probably be different color -- but that's half the fun: chasing inspiration, doing my best to keep up. Which color is inspiring you today?
The whole painting process has felt really, really wonderful lately, and I'm drawn to larger canvases than I have in the past months (2nd trimester perks). šŸ™ŒšŸ½šŸ™ŒšŸ½ I don't know exactly when this collection will be available, but I do know that, when it is, I'll be extremely proud of it. I would say that about 99% of my job (actually, my entire life?) is turning disorder into some loose semblance of order. Can I get an amen? I know you know what I mean.
A couple of years ago I had the privilege of visiting this beautiful home for a Southern Creative Workshop (hosted by @_paigefrench, @rinneallen, & @evenettles). It was there, amid the lush southern foliage, in this historic home (dense with artwork and nature, inside and out) that I learn more about cyanotypes and left so encouraged by the conversations about intentional beauty and natural poetry. I lean heavily upon that day, thinking about it often. It always amazes me how nourishing a little creative time and space away can be (especially when it is time spent with inspiring women.)
